Ms. Lynch's 2nd Class - Woodland Workshop
Ms. Lynch's 2nd Class attended a 'Woodland Workshop' run by Niamh Ní Dhúill from Heritage in Schools.
We used our 'plant eyes' and 'nature eyes' to investigate the Autumn harvest from our school grounds. The harvest included apples and berries (rowans, haws and spindles).
Niamh taught us about the wildlife on our school grounds that might enjoy the harvest ( including robins, crows, blackbirds, wrens, tree creepers, sparrows, badgers, hedgehogs and squirrels).
We used our 'nature eyes' to examine pollinators, bees and moths, that Niamh brought.
We used our 'plant eyes' to match seeds, berries and leaves to the correct trees on our school grounds.
Thanks to Niamh and members of the Green School Committee for a very enjoyable and informative 'Woodland Workshop' in the Autumn sunshine.
